Jawsattacks.com Is Moving!

April 14th, 2008

Jawsattacks.com is moving. Or I guess better said; it’s changing. The old site you see here will still be available at http://old.jawsattacks.com/wordpress/ but the content that will live here will be http://jawsattacks.tumblr.com. You’ll have to re-subscribe as the RSS feed will be brand spankin’ new and there will be a whole slew of goodies in it such as old songs, rough mixes and tracks from Death & taxes: Volume Two and other assorted Jaws jive. Check it.

April 7th, 2008

Sometime in the next few weeks the record will be available for download on iTunes. There’s a couple different mixes and some tracks are mastered different from a year ago. Check it out, and be sure and save your receipt if you buy it from iTunes. I’ve got some merch stuff coming up and some new songs I’ll send to anybody who has bought or will buy the record. Basically if you buy the full length (or have already bought it) you’ll be entitled to every song I’ll write for Jaws in between Death & Taxes: Volume One and Volume Two. You’ll be a Jaws subscriber.

I stole the idea from the band Jubilee (who are GREAT by the way).

Soon there will be a new site at jawsattacks.com and there will be an email address to send your receipt as a “proof of purchase”. An iTunes reciept or the old Indistr reciept will work fine.

Thanks for your patience. I’m probably going to put some stuff out in 2008 not only with Jaws, but I’ve got my solo project and a few other projects I’m helping with that I think people will really dig.

I the meantime:

A Note to the Democratic Party

February 14th, 2008

I Voted

The momentum and populism of Barack Obama has been exceedingly prevalent in the days leading up, and subsequent to Super Tuesday. I want to make it clear that for many, many people like myself the nomination of Hillary Clinton will completely put my vote in play in the General Election. Obama, on the other hand, will have my vote and have my full support in the campaign this year. DO NOT underestimate the power of the independent voter. The support Hillary Clinton has garnered throughout her campaign to be the Democratic nominee from the insiders of the Democratic party is not lost upon me, or thousands upon thousands like me.

If a situation arises where the “smoked filled rooms” of super-delagates nominate a candidate who clearly does not have the support of the people (who have shown overwhelmingly that they support Obama) will fracture your party and cause thousands, if not millions of people to call shenanigans and reject your party out of hand.

In short… nominate Hillary and my vote is in play. Nominate Obama and you will have my utter and complete support and a slew of people like me will give you the same. DO NOT underestimate this. DO NOT blow this.

Are you listening Howard Dean? Make the right move. A move that thrusts your party, and my country and our world forward.

California. You’ve Blown It. I’ll Never Forgive You.

Ironman Trailer Looks Pretty Damn Cool

February 4th, 2008

ironman.jpgHollywood has blown it on so many of the comic book crossovers with a few that are pretty good (Chistopher Nolan’s “Batman” being the best so far). I don’t know what is different from this Ironman trailer compared to the last one I saw (which made me very worried about this flick), but this new one looks pretty sweet. Jon Favreau is directing (Swingers, Made, Elf) and the casting of Robert Downey Jr. is a really good choice. Terence Howard is also in this bad boy.

The Hulk is also being redone with Ed Norton as Bruce Banner and as the writer. This one will probably be pretty good as well.

Twitter is a Keeper

January 29th, 2008

Twitter LogoI’ve been checking out Twitter and I think it will be something I continue. I’m REALLY picky about any sort of web app and especially picky about “social” sites. Most of them totally blow or are a necessary evil (see: myspace.com). If you haven’t already, give Twitter (Twitter.com) a run. You may dig it.

Finally finishing the first record?

January 21st, 2008

SSL.jpgI had a great conversation with Jason Livermore yesterday and at some point this year I’m taking my drives, my guitar and my vocal chords (and maybe a Space Echo or two) to the Blasting Room to finish tracking, mixing and mastering “Death and Taxes: Volume One”. I’ll probably be taking a couple tracks off of the prerelease track list for the final track list of the record and adding one or two nobody has heard.

I also talked with Larry Crane at TapeOp and will be doing a profile on Jason for an issue of the magazine. Good times all around. At this rate I’ll finish “Death and Taxes: Volume Two” sometime around 2011. That might even be pushing it.
